Remember those Magic Eye images that were all the rage back in the late ‘90’s?  They were just pictures of random colors and patterns, but if you looked at them just right, you could see amazing 3-D images pop from the page.  (At least that’s what they told me, I never could see those damn things.  Except maybe once or twice.  Pretty sure it was a cow.)  Even if you didn’t see them, the images were pretty mesmerizing and gave you the illusion of movement and I was never quite sure what it was I was looking at.  That’s what reading Sundowners is like for me.

I was wondering the other day, “How does Spider-Man, or Captain America, or any of those super dudes, how do they mow their yard?”  I mean they have to have a yard right?  Unless they all live in apartments, so if that’s the case, “How do they do their grocery shopping?”  In other words, the day to day lives of superheroes has to be pretty similar to our lives right?  So what does this have to do with Sundowners #3?  Not much really, but in a grander scheme it does.

They say you have to be crazy to put on a costume and fight crime.  Who’s “They”?  It doesn’t matter, trust me, They say it.  Writer Tim Seeley says, “Wait a minute… What if they are?  Crazy that is?” (Ok that’s not an actual quote from Tim Seeley, it’s more a rhetorical set up using an assumed quote for the purposes of this review.  Play along.)
